J.C. Leyendecker was a German-born American illustrator who helped define the look of early 20th-century style, advertising and magazine culture. With his crisp brushwork, immaculate tailoring and almost theatrical sense of pose, he turned commercial illustration into something seductive, polished and unforgettable.

Best known for his Saturday Evening Post covers and the Arrow Collar Man, Leyendecker created a new vision of American masculinity: clean-cut, elegant, athletic and quietly charged.
