Collection: Oscar Arrais

Born in Brazil and now based on Kaurna Land (Adelaide, Australia), Oscar Arrais creates textile collages from rescued fabrics and leather offcuts. His work explores how we remake ourselves - and what it means to be seen on our own terms.

Queer culture runs throughout his practice. In Queer Flesh, Sacred Soul, the body becomes sacred territory: a place shaped by memory and the possibility of healing. His Fashion Birds carry that same spirit into a more playful world, where Australian wildlife meets the drama of couture.

Oscar’s background in architecture and design shapes how each work is constructed. Fabric builds form, texture and depth. Humour draws us in, but beneath it lies a deeper act of reclamation. Discarded materials return with new meaning, while misunderstood subjects are finally given the freedom to take up space.
